Varanasi Offers Insights into Unusual Careers

Swathi Varanasi has some real insight when it comes to unusual career paths. Students can hear firsthand her tips and tricks for forging an unconventional career path in pharmacy on Monday, March 16 at 5 p.m. in BEB 110.

The Class of 2019 graduate is:

  • co-founder and resident of the PGY1 Integrative Health Pharmacy Residency program specializing in nutrition, pharmacogenomics and medical cannabis, the first integrative medicine pharmacy practice residency program in the country
  • training at an independent natural pharmacy and interprofessional HIV clinic as well as teaching and leading clinical research projects on medical cannabis
  • co-founder of a natural medicines online educational platform PharmSupplement

In addition to speaking at MUSC, she is speaking about integrative health pharmacy in acute care hospitals on Thursday, March 12 at the South Carolina Health-Systems Pharmacists Annual Meeting.
