SkinCeuticals MSL Fellowship

Position Description

The one-year postdoctoral fellowship will prepare the fellow to become a highly marketable professional in the field of dermocosmetics, which is defined as scientifically developed skincare recommended by health care professionals and distributed in health care outlets worldwide, including pharmacies, drugstores, medi-spas and e-retailers.

SkinCeuticals will fund the fellowship with an educational grant in partnership with MUSC, which will provide teaching and learning opportunities, under the guidance of a fellowship director. SkinCeuticals and MUSC will jointly promote and recruit for the fellowship. The fellow will directly work with SkinCeuticals for a period of one year.

This unique postdoctoral training offers an immersive introduction into the industry, including hands-on experience, network building and an industry-specific education. This experience may provide additional opportunities, such as precepting students to develop the fellow’s academic portfolio, and may lead to participation in the MUSC curriculum, creating/delivering seminars or earning additional certifications.

 

Qualifications

Fellows are selected on a nationally competitive basis. Candidates must have completed a Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Medicine, or Doctor of Philosophy degree from an accredited institution before July 1 of the fellowship term. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communications skills and a strong interest in pursuing a career within the state biopharmaceutical industry or industry. All candidates must have authorization to work in the United States throughout the duration of the one-year fellowship. No visa sponsorship will be provided.

Preceptor Bios

 

Shelby Kolo, Pharm.D. is the quality & safety manager for the acute, critical care, and trauma (ACT) ICCE at MUSC where she facilitates initiatives to improve quality and safety across multiple care settings. She is also a full-time assistant professor of clinical pharmacy and outcome sciences at the MUSC College of Pharmacy. After graduating from MUSC with her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship in healthcare quality at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. She also has her Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

 

Lyndsay Zotian, Pharm.D., MBA is the senior director of medical affairs at SkinCeuticals. Her background in industry covers multiple aspects of dermatology, including medical , aesthetic and device. Her extensive experience includes strategic consulting, research formulations, marketing, and medical science liaison for several pharmaceutical industry companies, all of which led her to SkinCeuticals and Loreal. She earned a concurrent MBA degree from The Citadel while getting her Pharm.D. from MUSC, and went on to serve a fellowship with Allergan. She has always enjoyed working with pharmacy students to expose them to career paths in industry, and starting this industry fellowship allows her to expand on that joy.
