Hibionada, Worralls attend International Pharmaceutical Federation World Congress

P3 Eden Hibionada won a scholarship that took him to Montreal for the 84th International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, courtesy of John Peiper, an affiliate faculty member with the College of Pharmacy.

Hibionada, P2 Sydney Worrall, and Cathy Worrall, associate dean of admissions and student affairs, represented MUSC along with Pieper at the congress, held August 30 - September 2, 2026 in Montreal. Sydney Worrall also presented a poster.

Pieper served as president and professor at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. He has been involved with FIP for many years and wanted to help an MUSC pharmacy student experience first-hand the value of the FIP World Congress, so he established an annual scholarship last year. Kristina Calamia was the first recipient.

This year's recipient came to the MUSC College of Pharmacy from Coast Carolina University, where he earned a B.S. in Biochemistry in 2024. Appropriately enough for an international conference scholarship winner, Hibionada speaks five languages: French, Spanish, Hiligaynon and Tagalog to go with English.

The International Pharmaceutical Federation World Congress brings together pharmacists, pharmaceutical scientists and educators to advance pharmacy’s role in patient-centred care and global health. This year's event had a theme of “One Health, One Pharmacy – Bridging science, practice and education” and featured  discussionsof how pharmacists can drive progress towards better health outcomes, equitable access to essential medicines and resilient health systems worldwide.
