The Academic Pharmacy Fellowship (APF) program at the MUSC College of Pharmacy prepares pharmacists who are seeking a career in pharmacy education. The ultimate goal is to train academic pharmacy fellows to become active faculty members at a college or school of pharmacy upon their hiring. The program will proactively integrate the fellows in various hand-on academic domains of practice and directly interact with students, staff, faculty and administrators at the College during their professional activities. In addition, academic fellows will inclusively participate in several at-large university activities involving the faculty. The program is also designed to make recent U.S. and international Pharm.D. graduates more competitive when they apply for residency training in the U.S. or when seeking a faculty position.
The program is offered to U.S. and international pharmacistswho have obtained a U.S. Pharm.D. degree or residency training certificate (PGY1or PGY2). All applicants must be sponsored by a grant or organization (e.g., pharmacyor health-system organization, university, grant institute, scientificfoundation, etc.) in order to cover the tuition fees and the stipend.
