Seeing this much excitement in the prospective student pool bodes well for the future of pharmacy!
The College of Pharmacy’s Pharmacy Readiness Engagement Program (PREP) welcomed a record number of participants on June 26, 2026. PREP prepares prospective students for a career path in pharmacy. The one-day, in-person event gives students the opportunity to:
- Interact with pharmacists in a wide variety of pharmacy professions
- Engage with nationally recognized faculty, both clinicians and researchers
- Engage in hands-on activities in our compounding lab
- Gain helpful information and tips regarding the MUSC College of Pharmacy interview process, including mock admission interviews
- Tour Campus
The program included a professional panel of pharmacists practicing in different career paths, including Jennifer Hamm, a clinical dermatology pharmacist, Nick Silvestri, a clinical specialist in endocrinology, Stephanie Kirk, a College of Medicine faculty member and practicing pharmacist in HIV, and Whitney Simmerlein Leppert, a senior medical science liaison. All four have direct ties to the College of Pharmacy as Hamm, Silvestri, and Leppert are all alumni and Kirk is a former College of Pharmacy faculty member.
“This gives students an opportunity to find out first-hand if pharmacy is the right path for them,” said Morgan Wing, recruitment coordinator who planned the event. “Seeing this much excitement in the prospective student pool bodes well for the future of pharmacy!”
