The MUSC College of Pharmacy offers South Carolina’s only pharmacy technician vaccination training program. It is one of the few programs of its kind in the country.

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the demand for qualified vaccinators so acute the federal government amended regulations to allow for pharmacy technicians to administer vaccines. To help meet this need, the MUSC College of Pharmacy developed its own unique training program.

The three-hour program is designed especially for pharmacy technicians to gain knowledge and skills necessary for the safe and effective delivery of vaccines. The continuing education portion of the program is offered virtually and the check-off can be offered in-person or virtually.

The program is accredited through a partnership with the Office of Continuing Education at the University of South Carolina.
