Burgess Wins Diversity Leadership Award

Priscilla Burgess ’20 has been selected as the winner of the 2020 Earl B. Higgins Student Leadership Diversity Award. This MUSC enterprise -wide annual award is presented to an employee and a student in recognition of exemplary strides/contributions in promoting diversity.

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is celebrating the 25-year anniversary of the award this year; they have postponed the event until it can be appropriately celebrated.

A 2016 graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in psychology, Burgess has been an active leader in many student organizations and activities including Student Ambassadors, the Student National Pharmaceutical Association, the Multicultural Student Advisory Board, and the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists. She also earned a master’s in business administration from The Citadel through the MUSC-Citadel concurrent degree program.

After graduation, she will begin a Post-Graduate Year One residency with Kaiser Permanente of Georgia where she will work to ensure patients get clinically appropriate, cost-effective medications.
