Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding, an independent community pharmacy owned by MUSC pharmacy alumna Cynthia Feldman, has opened the area’s first drive-thru Flu Fighter Clinic in Seaside Farms.

The clinic opened September 3 and will have another session September 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and again from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“It’s great to see our alumni breaking new ground in the profession,” said Philip Hall, dean of the MUSC College of Pharmacy. MUSC pharmacy alumnae Jessica Gaskins and Kailey Wilkins also work at Sweetgrass. “Innovation is hard-wired into our curriculum and students are very inspired by real-world examples like Sweetgrass. We’re proud of them.”

The pandemic has not slowed growth for Sweetgrass. The Mount Pleasant-based pharmacy plans to open a new location next spring. The new site at 3485 Park Avenue Blvd. will offer their traditional services as well as two drive-thru windows and a sterile lab.
