Pharmacy family helps with pharmacy families

In recognition of the extraordinary strain some working parents faced during school closures, MUSC pharmacy students decided to reach out and offer their services.

The Student Government Association-led program COP Supporting Employees and Students with Children & Animals pairs student volunteers with faculty and staff in need of child- and pet-sitting. This outreach mitigates the unexpected time and care burden caused by the pandemic, which changed the way schools and businesses operate and created new childcare issues even as it eliminated or reduced existing resources.

SGA officials distributed a spreadsheet with information about availability and experience of the volunteers for those in need, revealing some unusual skill sets like a student who is familiar with caring for desert lizards!
