The pharmacy profession has a long and colorful past. Mustafa Tarik ’22 created a fun and enlightening animation to highlight that journey for prospective pharmacy students.

He designed the video during a rotation with the MUSC College of Pharmacy Office of Advancement, serving under preceptor and director of development Megan Draper. The video has recently been added to the college’s recruiting site.

Mustafa Tarik ’22 graduated from a Houston high school in 2013, the same year he began learning English. A native of Iraq, he lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates until his family moved to Houston during his senior year of high school.

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) recognized him in 2021 with an appreciation for making the animated video “Safe use of OTC medications” and he won first place in a 2019 APhA pharmacy students film production competition.

"Pharmacy has allowed me to blend my passion for science with my love for technology,” he said. “I am extremely excited for what the future holds and cannot wait to tackle improving patient care with new innovations."
