Josh Dakin, jack of all trades for Dean’s Office

He knows how to spell Ypsilanti, that Michigan town that is the bane of crossword solvers everywhere and also his high school hometown.Oh, and he has a background in health care AND organizational management.

Josh Dakin is the new face in the Dean's Suite. Many members of the MUSC pharmacy family know Dakin from his most recent role as administrative assistant to pediatric surgery in the MUSC Hospital; he joins the College of Pharmacy as administrative coordinator for the dean's office.

Since coming to MUSC in 2011, he has also worked in 10 West Orthopedic/Trauma and in the Medical Intensive Care Unit as unit secretary.

Prior to that, he was a telemetry technician for Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, N.C. and aerospace medical technician for the United Air Force in Colorado Springs, Co. He went to Charleston Southern University where he earned a bachelor of science in organizational management with a concentration in health care.
