Samantha Brice ’24 has been named Student Pharmacist of the Year by the national pharmacy fraternity Phi Delta Chi.

The rising third year student at the MUSC College of Pharmacy was recognized for her outstanding work on Phi Delta Chi’s continuing education event, as well as her leadership in the college. She was one of two winners of the national award.

“She worked closely with South Carolina's continuing education accreditation department to ensure we were doing everything appropriately for the event,” the fraternity’s social media channels posted. “She was also the only person on this committee and organized the whole event by herself. With the ever changing COVID-19 guidelines she faced adversity as we neared the event and had to change it to a virtual platform.”

The testimonial also cited her involvement in the MUSC College of Pharmacy, including serving as president-elect for the college’s student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association, vice president of Christian Pharmacists Fellowship International, and many other roles.

The Clemson graduate started her MUSC pharmacy career with an unusual splash – she was featured on the show “House Hunters” as she and her family bought a house in downtown Charleston when moving from Greenville, S.C.

Founded in 1883, Phi Delta Chi’s mission is “to provide a lifelong home for pharmacy professionals inspiring Brotherhood, Leadership, Service, and Scholarship.”
