Dottie Farfone '99 has inspired countless MUSC pharmacy students over the years. They've done rotations in her pharmacy, heard her speak at events, benefitted from her generosity, seen her in the media, been counseled by her as a mentor. Now the 2019 Distinguished Alumnus Award winner is inspiring everyone in the MUSC family with a $5,000 challenge grant.

Dottie and Scott Farfone, owners of Dottie's Pharmacy, made the challenge grant to the MUSC College of Pharmacy as part of Giving Tuesday. Each dollar donated online to any College of Pharmacy fund on Giving Tuesday will be matched by Dottieā€™s Pharmacy, up to $5,000 total.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of philanthropy, a movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

Dean Philip Hall has tempted donors with an added incentive. If the college can raise $5,000 on Giving Tuesday to secure the matching gift, he will wear the Phil the Pill costume to run the 31st Annual Reindeer Run on December 10, 2022. And Phil the Pill running is a spectacle not to be missed.
