Finalists of Emory Global Health Case Competition

It’s been nearly a decade but MUSC College of Pharmacy student Kaylee Simon led an MUSC interprofessional team that advanced to the finals of the Emory Global Health Case Competition this past weekend.

Simon captained the MUSC team, which earned honorable mention as one of the top five teams.

Thirty teams from six countries participated in the competition focused on the case topic “Preventing Maternal Death in Haiti's Central Plateau.”

“The students put in a tremendous amount of creativity and dedication, working as a true interprofessional team in developing their case solution and presentation style,” said Kathleen Ellis, executive director of the MUSC Center for Global Health. “As a result, the MUSC team advanced to the finals as one of the top five teams – the first MUSC team in nine years to make it to the finals!  Kudos to a talented team of students who represented MUSC proudly on an international stage.”
