The future became clearer for a lot of anxious pharmacy students on Wednesday. It was Match Day!

Nationally, some 5,643 people registered for the post-graduate year one (PGY1) match and 3,560 matched successfully during Phase I of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Resident Matching Program. Another 1,713 registered for PGY2, with 729 matching.

Results of Phase II will be released April 14, 2023 and the post-match "scramble" will follow, after which MUSC will know its final results.

Early returns are promising and it looks like MUSC pharmacy will once again beat the national average in match success. MUSC students are headed all over the country, from Boston to Chicago to New York to San Francisco to Texas to Utah. Many are headed to top-notch programs in the southeast as well, including MUSC.
