Phil the Pill 5K

Join College of Pharmacy mascot, Phil the Pill, for a virtual 5K run/walk!

 Dean Philip Hall will run 5 kilometers while wearing “Phil the Pill” to show his support of LOWVELO, a virtual run/walk/cycle event that raises money for cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center and to raise money for the for the MUSC College of Pharmacy.

The MUSC pharmacy family is invited to join in on the fun – no costume required! Print a bib, then share pictures of your run or walk using hashtags #PhilthePill5K and #WEareMUSCpharmacy (don't forget to tag @musccollegeofpharmacy).

Go the extra mile by making an online gift to the MUSC College of Pharmacy or by starting a Facebook fundraiser for the College of Pharmacy to get friends to “sponsor” your 5K!

 

Start a Facebook fundraiser for pharmacy today! 

The MUSC Foundation is the nonprofit that manages charitable gifts for all MUSC colleges, programs and centers. The MUSC Foundation Facebook page offers you an easy way to fundraise for MUSC.

1.    Log into Facebook.

2.    Copy and paste facebook.com/fund/MUSCFoundation into the address bar.

3.    Fill in your fundraising details and change the title of your fundraiser.

Example: Megan’s Phil the Pill’s Virtual 5K Fundraiser Supporting the MUSC College of Pharmacy.

4.    Update “Why are you raising money?”

Example: I'm participating in the first Phil the Pill Virtual 5K to raise money for the MUSC College of Pharmacy. Your donation will directly impact the MUSC College of Pharmacy and, ultimately, the profession of pharmacy. Facebook doesn’t charge fees to nonprofits, so 100% of what you donate will go to the college. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. #WEareMUSCpharmacy

5.    Update the cover photo. We suggest using a photo of yourself in your white coat. Or choose one of the #WEareMUSCpharmacy downloads available on the left side of the American Pharmacists Month Page

6.    Create.

7.    Use the invite button to share your fundraiser. Inviting all of your Facebook friends is vital to your fundraiser’s success. You should also copy the link to your fundraiser and email or text it to friends who aren’t on Facebook.
