Philip Hall contemplates Phil the Pill's shoe

“What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving, how express and admirable in action, how like an angel in apprehension…” William Shakespeare (Hamlet)

From time to time, something brings out our best. Human beings are capable of astonishing acts of generosity, of sacrifice, of heroism, and of beauty. Giving Tuesday is one of those things that brings out our best. This global day of giving was Nov. 29, and it was amazing and gratifying to see how much people want to help each other.

At the college, we’re so thankful for our donors. For transformative donors like Alycia Araneo Craft. For milestone donors like Barbara Rippy. For foundational donors like Christy Cooper Whitlock, Heather Sharpe and the Pharmacy Network Foundation. For donors to scholarships, to the annual fund, to the building, and to the many other critical funds that sustain us.

And of course for donors to the college on Giving Tuesday. We were particularly excited about Giving Tuesday this year because of a generous match by Dottie and Scott Farfone of Dottie’s Pharmacy

In fact, I got carried away with excitement. If we were able to raise $5,000, I agreed to compete in this year’s Reindeer Run dressed as Phil the Pill… and we made it!

Many thanks for all the great support from our donors and I’ll keep you posted on what running in the pill is like!
