How in the world did Phil the Pill manage to get onto that dugout?

On August 3, 2025, when Charlie T. RiverDog celebrated his birthday, there was no doubt Phil the Pill would don his best bow tie (OK, his only bow tie) and grace the party!

While the Charleston RiverDogs took on the Myrtle Beach Pelicans on the field, a motley of mascots came together and more than a dozen fur- and feather-friends were on hand to celebrate.

The mascots posed for pictures with the Charleston RiverDogs Kids Club, wandered around the stands greeting fans, climbed on the dugout to serenade Charlie with "Happy Birthday" and participated in a mascot race.

Phil, of course, let the birthday dog win.

(Note: it is unknown whether mascots have a collective noun assigned to them. In honor of the motley worn by court jesters, this alliterative name seemed appropriate).
