Keeana Ross '21 wins Earl B. Higgins Student Leadership Diversity Award

Keeana Ross ’21 has been selected as the winner of the 2021 Earl B. Higgins Student Leadership Diversity Award.  This MUSC enterprise -wide annual award is presented to an employee and a student in recognition of exemplary strides/contributions in promoting diversity.

This is the second year in a row that someone in the MUSC pharmacy family has won this award! Last year, Priscilla Burgess was honored with it.

Originally from Queens, New York, Keeana grew up mostly in Columbia, S.C. and received her bachelor of science degree in Biological Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2017.

She has served as vice president MUSC’s Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS) chapter, co-chairperson of Generation Rx for MUSC’s APhA-ASP chapter, is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and a charter officer of the college’s Industry Pharmacists Organization(IPhO) chapter. She is serving on the national board of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association as Region III facilitator.

After graduation, she will take a post-doctoral fellowship position with Pfizer as the US Medical Affairs Rare Disease fellow through the Rutgers Pharmaceutical Industry Fellowship (RPIF) Program.
