The MUSC Board of Trustees has approved and finalized the promotions of Nicole Pilch and Chris Wisniewski to professor of clinical pharmacy and outcome sciences. They also were each awarded tenure by the board effective January 1, 2021.

"These promotions are well-deserved honors," said Philip Hall, dean of the MUSC College of Pharmacy. "Both of these faculty members have demonstrated a significant flair for teaching, commitment to the clinical and research missions of the college, and a deep capacity for leadership."

Nicole Pilch earned her Pharm.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and did her residencies in pharmacy practice and critical care at MUSC. Before joining the College, she served as director of quality and outcomes for the Transplant Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence (ICCE) at MUSC. She conducts research in patient safety transitions of care and transplant immune-suppression optimization.

Chris Wisniewski earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia and did his residencies at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He joined MUSC in 2008 and has subsequently also earned a master’s of science in clinical research from MUSC. An innovator in the classroom, his research interests include scholarship in teaching as well as drug information, evidence-based medicine, and critical literature evaluation.
