Among his many other accomplishments, Bobby Bradham proved an important point: nice guys can finish first.

A respected leader in the pharmacy community and great advocate for MUSC pharmacy, Bobby Bradham passed away on May 22, 2024 after a long and courageous battle with frontotemporal dementia.

The family will receive friends on Friday May 31, 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. at Fort Johnson Baptist Church, 1473 Camp Road, Charleston, SC 29412.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Fort Johnson Baptist Church, FORWARD FROM THE FIRE FUND.

His storied pharmacy career included many accolades, such as the MUSC College of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumnus Award, the South Carolina Pharmacy Association (SCPhA) Bowl of Hygeia Award, and the SCPhA Pharmacist of the Year Award. He served as the SCPhA president from 1992-1993 and on the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy from 1999 to 2005, finishing his service as chairman and being recognized with a South Carolina Senate Resolution.

“Bobby Bradham was an extraordinarily kind and considerate human being,” said Philip Hall, dean of MUSC College of Pharmacy. “Pharmacy was a second career for him and it was a beautiful fit, combining his great love of helping people, intellectual exercise, and community leadership. We’ve been proud to call him an MUSC pharmacist.”

A graduate of Manning High School, Wofford College, University of Virginia, and MUSC College of Pharmacy, Bobby Bradham started off as a middle school teacher/principal before ultimately finding his career passion as local pharmacist. That range of experience gave him a unique and endearing servant-leader approachability, which allowed him to serve well in various leadership positions in the local and state community. His greatest joy and service was to his beloved Fort Johnson Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 59 years, Barbara Jean Reardon Bradham, as well as his daughter Katherine Bradham Morse of Culpeper, VA and his son Robert Perry Bradham and daughter-in-love Wendy Ackerman Bradham of Charleston, SC. He has nine grandchildren.
