New initiates of Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma join with other student and alumni members of the pharmacy societies.

On April 3, 2025, the newest initiates of Rho Chi, the pharmacy honor society, and Phi Lambda Sigma (PLS), the pharmacy leadership society, were inducted.

In addition to the new inductees, individual awards were also presented to:

  • Kathy Hogan Edwards, Rho Chi Society Alumni Honor Roll Inductee
  • Cassidy Cross, Outstanding Supplemental Instruction Award
  • Hanie Barakat, PLS Chapter Alumni of the Year
  • Janey Cole, PLS Chapter Member of the Year

The Rho Chi Society has its origin in the merger of two movements, both commencing in 1917, to create a national honor society for pharmacy. By, 2018, there were 128 active chapters of Rho Chi, which seeks to advance pharmacy through sustained intellectual leadership.

Phi Lambda Sigma was organized in 1965 and, by 2018, chapters were chartered at 125 of the then-existing 138 U.S. schools and colleges of pharmacy. PLS was founded to promote the development of leadership qualities, especially among pharmacy students.
