The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy has selected 21 outstanding students as recipients of the 2025 CVS Health Foundation/AACP Community Pharmacy Award for Student Pharmacists. Each awardee will receive a $20,000 scholarship.

One of the students on that national stage is MUSC pharmacy’s own Carla Wilson.

“We’re very proud of Carla for earning this well-deserved recognition,” said Philip Hall, dean of the MUSC College of Pharmacy. “She is one of our student leaders and has stepped up to represent us in multiple ways, so we’re very pleased to have her carry the MUSC banner at this national level.”

The award is funded by the CVS Health Foundation, and will reduce financial barriers for student pharmacists in pursuit of a Pharm.D. degree who are committed to improving health outcomes and the well-being of individual patients in communities across the United States.

“We’re pleased to assist these talented students as they pursue their Pharm.D. degrees,” said Lucille Accetta, senior vice president and chief pharmacy oficer, CVS Health. Accetta recently spoke at the MUSC College of Pharmacy’s grand re-opening of the CVS Lab. “Community pharmacy plays an important role in the health of millions of Americans every day, and it’s vital that we support student pharmacists who will be helping to shape community pharmacy’s future in the years ahead.”
