Chris Wisniewski has been recognized by his peers in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) Drug Information and Library Science (DILS) Section. The professor of clinical pharmacy and outcomes sciences was presented with the Member of the Year Award at the AACP Annual Meeting in Aurora, Colorado at the end of July.

Wisniewski, who has served as president of the DILS section, runs the Drug Information Center at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. This award is not his first national recognition from the AACP - in 2021, he was selected for the Emerging Teaching Scholar Award.

Wisniewski earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia in 2004 and completed post-graduate training at St. Thomas Hospital and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The AACP has nine special interest sections to help its members collaborate and leverage each other's experience. The Drug Information and Library Science Section (formerly Library and Information Science Section) supports librarians, pharmacists, and other professionals who are involved in pharmacy education and/or practice related to drug information, literature evaluation, evidence-based medicine, informatics, scholarly communication and publishing, information/data literacy, teaching technologies and methods, and other related topics.
