The American Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP) has named its 21st Cohort and one of the 35 individuals picked across the country is MUSC pharmacy's Chris Wisniewski!

Offered by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the Academic Leadership Fellows Program (ALFP) develops and supports leaders in the Academy that contribute to the advancement of pharmacy education, higher education, and the pharmacy profession.

Wisniewski, professor of clinical pharmacy and outcomes sciences at the MUSC College of Pharmacy, has garnered several national recognitions in recent years and is currently chairing the college’s 2025 Self-Study.

Wisniewski earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Sciences in Philadelphia in 2004 and completed post-graduate training at St. Thomas Hospital and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

The ALFP provides an opportunity for Fellows to expand networking relationships with peers and colleagues in other institutions, as well as within their own college and university. The ALFP curriculum is reviewed annually to ensure content is contemporary and appropriate to the program’s leadership objectives.

In addition to as many as half-dozen virtual programs throughout the year, the cohort will have five in-person meetings:

  • Session I: September 9-13, 2024
  • Session II: October 27-31, 2024
  • Session III: TBD based on AACP Interim Meeting Dates February 2025
  • Session IV: July 19-22, 2025 in conjunction with AACP Annual Meeting

“Dr. Wisniewski has taken on a number of leadership roles in the college and is an emerging national leader in pharmacy education,” said Philip Hall, dean of the MUSC College of Pharmacy. “We’re proud to have him represent MUSC in this select group and look forward to what this program will add to his experience, the college, and the profession.”
